For this exciting production of HAIR, I began with a ‘zero-waste’ concept - constructing the costumes from entirely found and recycled fabrics, genuine vintage clothing, and no new purchases to combat the industry’s reliance on fast fashion. We used natural dye techniques, recycled deadstock fabric, and focused on having as little environmental impact as possible. This approach aligned with the Hippie mentality, and tied it in to our modern world.
Fittings began March 2020. However, due to Covid 19 the production was put on hold for a year and moved to an online concert format. Virtual fittings commenced again with the new cast in March 2021 and the show was broadcast in May maintaining as much of the original concept as possible. It was absolutely fascinating to see this production grow and change, and despite difficulties, I am very proud of the work we did with the help of the UCLA costume shop.

It's summer 1994, and a group of conservative drama teens throw their final murder mystery party before heading off to college. During the game, an unexpected visit by a rebel makes them question their readiness for the “real world” to come. At the center of the group is Gene, who wants to come out as gay to his best friends before they leave – but is terrified of the changes that may bring. Jonathan Wysocki's debut feature film is a love letter to drama nerds, late bloomers, and the intense friendships of youth.

This new ballet, choreographed by Ghislain Grellier, is an artistic abstraction of the 12 Brothers fairytale by the Brothers Grimm.

My senior thesis was costume design for the musical Cabaret by Joe Masteroff, directed by Giovanni Ortega. The social and political issues examined in Cabaret are remarkably relevant today. The false glamour of the cabaret show masks harsh political realities of persecution and bigotry. It is my belief that these connections to today’s political situation will be most authentic with a historically accurate approach to the design, with subtle details connecting to modern times. I use costumes to accurately portray the destitution of the real world in the dawn of 1930s Berlin, and contrast it with the bright falsehood and wonderful tackiness of the Cabaret, with Sally Bowles serving as the bridge between these two worlds.

This comedic film follows two brothers shaking down a man that they think kidnapped their son, and the hijinks and misunderstandings that follow.
We shot this in the summer of 2020 in Van Nuys, CA. It was my first project during COVID-19, and was shot entirely outdoors to help with protocols. Despite a very unique working environment it was a delight to film, and I had a great time putting together looks for the vibrant characters and working with the fantastic team.
